Yoga Glow: Best Yoga Poses for Beautiful and Radiant Skin

The cosmetics industry is a billion-dollar business and it’s no surprise why.

Generally, people would want to always look good and are more than willing to spend a significant amount just to achieve that objective.

And one foundation of looking flawless is radiant, beautiful, and glowing skin.

Unfortunately, achieving a flawless skin can be challenging nowadays with pollution and toxins almost at a record high.

Thankfully, you can still achieve that radiant glow without breaking the bank through yoga.

How is it possible?

For starters:

  • Yoga gives your skin a natural glow by flushing out unwanted toxins from your body. It also helps regulate the excretory and digestive systems so your internal purification system stays in peak condition.
  • Yoga poses soothe and help the mind and body ward off stress. While not everyone may be aware of it, tired, worn-out, and dull skin has been linked to stress. When the stress level is reduced significantly (or eliminated altogether), then you can see a dramatic change in your skin.
  • Blood toxins and allergies may sometimes result to boils, infections, and acne. Yoga helps heal and avoid these type of skin problems from occurring by promoting good blood circulation and flushing out toxins.
  • You may have noticed that your skin loses luster and radiance if you lack proper sleep and rest. Yoga promotes sound and restful sleep so you will wake up refreshed and energized, with radiant-looking skin to boot!
  • Yoga gives your skin a natural lift, making it firm and tight and free from fine lines and wrinkles.

If you want to try yoga poses that will give you enviable skin, below are some of the handful you can try.

In essence, many of these yoga asanas can aid in skin renewal so you can expect to see amazing results within a few weeks.

Otherwise known as the shoulder stand, this pose helps improve texture and promote a healthy glow by enhancing blood circulation toward the face.

However, the skin on the face will not be the only part that will benefit from this pose.

Practicing this pose at least 3 to 5 minutes daily can significantly reduce acne, wrinkles, dullness, and other skin blemishes.

To execute the pose, lie on your back and raise the torso and the legs off the floor.

Allow your body to rest on your shoulders.

Keep your hips off the floor using your hands.

Stay in the position and close your eyes.

Breathe deeply for 30 seconds to a minute and return to starting position slowly after.

Also referred to as the plow pose, the halasana is one of the best asanas to do if you want to achieve a naturally healthy and glowing skin.

The halasana helps enhance the digestive process so you’ll have radiant skin.

To execute the halasana, lie on your back.

Gradually raise your torso and legs off the floor.

The lower legs should be behind your head.

Remain in the pose for 10 to 15 seconds and transition to a relaxing position.

You can hold your back so you will have support during this pose.

The halasana is also considered a good pose to combat hip and back pain.

Moreover, it has also been known to help boost metabolism.

Uttanasana is a forward-bending pose that has been designed to increase blood flow to the face.

It also works by increasing the supply of oxygen to the skin cells and supplying helpful nutrients to the skin so it can fight any damage caused by free radicals.

Aside from promoting the much-needed skin cell renewal, it is also considered one of the best (and the easiest!) pose to do to dramatically reduce tummy fat.

To do the uttanasana, stand straight, with your arms raised overhead and your feet closed.

Try to touch the ground by bending forward from your pelvis while still keeping your legs straight.

Close your eyes and allow your head to hang freely.

Aim to stay in the forward-bending position for at least a minute before returning back to the standing position.

More commonly known as the triangle pose, the trikonasana is considered one of the best poses you can do to achieve glowing skin.

The pose works wonders by opening up the chest, heart, and lungs and supplying more oxygen to the skin so it stays refreshed and rejuvenated.

This pose is also good at restoring the equilibrium between the mind and the body.

Aside from giving you a beautiful glow, it also helps slim down the legs, thighs, and the arms.

Execute the trikonasana by standing with your legs wide apart.

As you turn the right foot out, raise your hands to the side and bend to your right from your hips.

Allow your right hand to come down toward the floor, with your left hand in the air.

Ensure the head stays at a neutral position or you can turn to the left and gaze upwards.

Stay in the position while taking long deep breaths.

Return to standing position and repeat the pose using the opposite side.
